Rainbow Relaxation by Coltography Rainbow Relaxation by Coltography
Another photo using the flash goggles.

This effect is not produced using photoshop, each eye-socket has a custom made flash inside of it which is remotely triggered. More info on my site blog. :)

*Coltography uses smoke and colours to make this piece more intriguing in concept. Not only are the hands expressive, the obscurity provided by the illuminated goggles and the rest of the mask leaves both the person and Rainbow Relaxation, overall, very mysterious indeed. ( Featured by 3wyl )

I associate her posture more with the start of a massive nerd freak-out than with relaxation, haha. I bet a cyborg prototype exploded off screen. :D

I loved going through your website, and I really appreciate your posting a tutorial for the flash goggles!

I can't help but say how cliche this gas mask idea is I've seen in the DD section one too many times. I mean props for customizing the mask a little bit, but I can say nothing more for it.

The rest of your Gallery seems neat though. Thankfully your gallery doesn't consist of just this very concept (like some) for the sake of diversity.

Thanks? I guess. If you think this is only customized "a bit" your sadly ignorant and can't understand the complexities involved in making custom flashes to achieve this effect.

I spoke nothing about any of this being simple and nothing about it being not hard to do, now did I? I only said that (never mind the smoke effect which is cool) the goggles with the touch of an added light effect is not to me a huge leap so as to make it SO original like others exaggerate. It's still the same milked idea for the most part, regardless. I'm sorry, this is what I think.

It sounds to me you only cherish the comments of those who are all-agreeing as opposed to those who don't entirely agree. It is those that challenge your work that makes you better. I know because I've been through the ruts of brash criticism myself, far more than what I'm saying toward your work. Had everyone just agreed with everything I do I don't think I'd be where I am today.

Hahaha.

Of course I cherrish the "all-agreeing' comments more, as well as the insightful critique - but you were simply giving your half-brained opinion on what shows up in the DD gallery and making condescending remarks towards my work & what others find to be interesting.

This is not critique, does not 'challenge' me, and is solely your opinion. I don't mind that. But, if you don't like these gas mask photos, why do you bother to look at them in the first place? No one's forcing you to.

I don't take a sliver of offense from your comment, nor do I find it intelligent or insightful. So don't apologize, because I'm the one that's sorry you take things so seriously! Cheers

It seems you didn't catch on. I tried to keep it nice but since I have to be more literal and brash now, everything in what I said was saying in a 'round-about-way' to be original and produce something a little more thought provoking. It didn't captivate me, and in turn, I had every right to voice what I thought whether you agree or disagree. That's what the comments section is for after all, right?

And I am the opposite. I embrace criticism as opposed to often pretentious one-liner comments in total agreement.

And why did I bother viewing and saying anything? Because I've more than enough of them. You can only bite your tongue for so long. It gets old. You can't expect people not to eventually say something.

It's you who is taking things too seriously and don't see the intent behind my comment. I'm sorry you're too ignorant to see that. And I am sorry for nothing I say because I hold it to be nothing but the truth in me.

Outstanding! But wouldn't it be easier to just photoshop the effect? I admire that you built custom goggles for it but I'm just wondering the advantage....thanks!

Wouldn't "photoshopping" stuff just cheapen the quality? It's lazy. George Lucas flushed the newer Star Wars down the toilet because he avoided real models.
